It’s time to break up with 24/7 food noise

Support for adults + teens who feel stuck in food noise, binge-restrict cycles, ADHD-related eating struggles, and body image distress.Virtual in NY, CA, and select states.

Understand your food noise

Food noise is likely not new to you. It’s something you’ve probably been carrying for many years now. Maybe even something you’ve tried to address with every diet, coaching or wellness trend.

With so much information about wellness and pressures to look a certain way, it makes sense you feel overwhelmed and confused on how to actually support yourself day to day in a way that is both sustainable and flexible. Because most of the plans and trends, don’t actually help you build trust with yourself, they just encourage adherence to an often rigid, un-tailored plan.

Instead of hunger, fullness and cravings being neutral cues, they’ve become noise — things to fear, diminish or attempt to control with no avail. Our practice focuses on understanding your food noise so you can actually navigate everyday eating with confidence and flexibility. We support you in understanding what your body actually needs, stream-lining decision making with food and building the confidence to navigate food in all environments.

Support that helps you move from surviving to thriving

At Embodied Health Counseling we focus on not only meeting you where you are, which means unpacking what brought you here in the first place, but we also focus on understanding the challenges that are unique to YOU.

We specialize in ADHD, binge eating and body image and work with your team to build support that helps you not just survive day to day but actually thrive. Food and your relationship with your body doesn’t have to keep holding you back from actually living your life anymore.

Our practice is here to combine sustainable, evidence-based tools with a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to meet you where you are and get you where you want to be.

Why Clients Choose Us

  • Our team prides itself in knowing you as a human. We want to support you as an individual and acknowledge you exist within a variety of communities, relationships and systems that all impact you.

Unlike other dietitians, we keep small caseloads so we can really focus on you and the care you deserve. Some dietitians that take insurance can see upwards of 100 clients a month. We aim to keep our caseloads under 30 clients per month so you never become a number in our schedule.

  • We believe you are a human first before you are anything else.

Through extensive supervision and ongoing continuing education, our providers are equipped to provide the relational support necessary for your healing.

Research shows that the most impactful factor impacting client outcomes is the provider-client relationship. This is more important than any modality used and is why we value client feedback and regularly seek it out so we can always be improving the care we provide you. No more will you feel like your provider just “doesn’t get it”. We are committed to understanding you and your unique needs.

Most of our clients because of this work with us for a minimum of 6 months and some for years.

  • The healthcare system makes care collaboration so difficult. Providers are often holding such large case loads and so burnt out that they rarely are able to effectively collaborate with your team.

Our team goes above and beyond to understand your story. We work closely with your therapists and other medical providers to support you in your journey as we know our work is only one piece of the puzzle that is your healing journey.

By keeping our caseloads small, we can focus on regularly communicating with your team to ensure that everyone is on the same page and you feel supported.

  • Whether you are stuck in cycles of dieting, never-ending decision paralysis when hunger strikes, anxiety around how food will make you feel, or bingeing that makes it difficult to get out of bed in the morning, our team has spent years understanding what drives these behaviors and how to help you shift away from them.

What Clients Have To Say

  • "I have been working with Emily C for almost 4 years now and she has made the biggest difference in my view of myself and how I live my everyday life."

Her impact starts at food and nourishment but goes so far beyond it, as she really understands that so many aspects of my life as a whole contribute to how I eat and my relationship with food and my body. She truly meets you where you are at and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone struggling with body image and food related issues.

  • "Emily is a godsend, and one of the main reasons I've continued eating disorder recovery this long....

What has most stood out to me is the way that Emily walks the line of what we should talk about to further my recovery whilst giving me agency in when I talk about those things. I made it clear at the onset of working with her that I do not trust dietitians, and she changed that.”

  • "Emily was the first dietitian to see me and not my body....

She made me feel safe while also helping me hold space for ED thoughts.

She's well-educated, emotionally intelligent, and passionate about what she does. Those of us in fat bodies, shamed by dietitians in the past, or fearing of being judged by being honest...that stops at Emily's practice”
